expected:
I never expected to play an active role on campus. I've been involved in so many different organizations that I didn't think would coincide with all the work I have to do, but somehow I've been able to be a part of lots of great things while still accomplishing what I need to in the classroom.

My favorite thing about being an MC student is getting to be around the awesome faculty and staff. It is also very easy to become involved and really stand out here at Manchester.

expected:
I never expected to grow as independent as I have become. I thought I would rely on my mom and dad forever, and although they are still very importantl to me, I don't depend on them to do my laundry anymore or budget my money, although it is still nice to receive once in a while!

balance. This is a great place to learn, yet have fun and I feared that college was all work and no play. Not the case. The activities and annual events that take place remind us to have fun in our learning as well.

My favorite thing about being an MC student is how much professors care and want to see you succeed. Professors here care about you and want to see you reach your goals. They are always willing to take time out of their busy days to help or even just talk to you.

I never expected to get so much experience teaching before going into the public schools. Every Thursday I help teach home schooled children. I also just got done being a personal trainer for a person to help with their overall health.

to attend MC:
MC had the right little niche that I wanted to join. The closness to Fort Wayne was a plus and it gave me the opportunity to play college basketball.
My favorite things
about Manchester:
I enjoy everything about being a student. I would rather be a student than work, especially at MC. Being able to walk next door in the dorm and socialize or say hi to someone you don't know on campus. It's friendly here and I believe that's a tradition.
I never
expected:
Become captain of the men's basketball and help lead a team to victory! Acquiring internships during the last two summers.
At Manchester
College, I found:
Adventure and Success....Everyday is different at MC, the people you talk to, the things you do, and the tasks you accomplish. The social scene is interesting and fun to go with. You will probably make the most friends in your life here at MC. Being able to see and talk to your professors everyday is a huge plus. Since receiving two internships in the last 2 years, I know that MC is a successful place to be.

My favorite thing about MC is the comfort level it has provided. The students, staff, faculty, etc. ... everything seems to fit just right. I have also fallen in love with the xc and track program, the coaches and athletes have really helped shape the person I am becoming, and for that I am so grateful.
