Why I decided
to attend MC: |
I applied because it was free, but then I came for a recruit visit. I really liked how small it was and I loved how small the classes were. It just felt like it would be the perfect fit. |
My favorite things
about Manchester: |
Right now, I love making new friends and getting closer with new friends. I also love being a member of the track team. |
| I never
expected: |
Share a room with someone...as an only child I never had to do. I will admit I lucked out and I got a pretty cool roommate even though she goes to bed at like 11:30 every night..ha ha. |
At Manchester
College, I found: |
friends, the expeerience that I had always dreamed college would be....I found ME!!! |

want to be a person engaged in faith, service, and learning.
|
My favorite things
about Manchester: |
Faculty members who encourage you as a person, as well
as a student. |
| I never
expected: |
I never expected to connect my values, my studies, my
spirituality, and my daily life. I can express all these important
parts of me here at Manchester College.
|
At Manchester
College, I found: |
At Manchester College, I found space. Space to grow and explore and claim thoughts for my own. College is a completely new environment
where you're no longer formed by the ideas of your family, your school,
your town. You find space to express yourself, to learn, to try out, to
think through. You find out who you really are and what you really
think and feel. Having space sounds scary, and sometimes it is, but you
make it through with the supportive community Manchester offers.
Manchester College doesn't stifle me, doesn't abandon me...just gives me
space. And that's just what I need.

Why I decided
to attend MC: |
I have been dreaming about going to Manchester since I was really, really young. Both of my parents attended here and all they could do was rave about it. Also, the size appealed to me in a very personal way. I loved the small class sizes and small communities that I could so easily see myself becoming a part of. |
My favorite things
about Manchester: |
I love the relationships with students and professors. It's really an amazingly accepting feeling to walk along campus and have a lot of people know you, and wave, or pass a professor and for them to call you by your first name. |
| I never
expected: |
I never expected to live on my own so well. I thought that I would lean on my friends and close family heavily, but I haven't. I have become so independent, and I love it. I still need people, but not in the ways that I would have thought. |
At Manchester
College, I found: |
a life. This is the beginning to my life, and I know it, and am glad for it. |

|
At Manchester

a place to learn, be who I am, and transform into who I will become. I never expected to change the opinions and ideas that I'd held throughout high school, but here I learned about the real issues, and I feel that I have a better idea of the reality of our world. |

to live in a Dorm. Participated in a Drag show. I was in my first semester here and I was asked by some good friends if i would do an act. I said sure, sounds like fun. I ended up going all out, I had my hair curled a full dress on, gorgeous by the way, it was yellowish gold and make-up. People that i had become friends with didnt even know who the "girl" in gold was. But they thought she was gorgeous and totally surprised to find ot it was me. it was really funny to have people not even recognize me. All this as a striaght man. |

Why I decided
to attend MC: |
I felt at home the moment I stepped on campus and I could really picture myself going here. Everyone, from professors to students to campus staff, were extremely welcoming and nice to me as a prospective and nothing has changed now that I am a student here. |
My favorite things
about Manchester: |
My favorite thing about Manchester is the people! Together we challenge each other in class, travel abroad to countries (or continents!) near and far, play against one another in intramurals, and simply hang out and study together. Life at MC is never too dull and the people, faculty, staff, and students alike, help shape the Manchester experience into something meaningful. |
| I never
expected: |
I never expected to find so many opportunities. Clubs geared towards my interests and needs to develop professionally; intramural teams of faculty, staff, and students playing together; numerous study abroad opportunities available each January; and unique research seminars and internships all designed to further my experience as a student are available to me at MC.
|
At Manchester
College, I found: |
At Manchester College, I found the opportunity to grow. My professors continually challenge me to think for myself and push me to grow and succeed academically. I found clubs and organizations that allow me to develop professionally or simply develop friendships that transcend majors or fields of study. My travel abroad experiences have allowed me to grow in my worldview and given me renewed energy for making an impact around me. Unique research chances and internships have given me the opportunity to mature and grow both as a student and as a person. At Manchester, I found the opportunity to grow into the person I was always meant to become. |

Why I decided

I was looking for a smaller school where I could have a lot of close friends and I could have the one-on-one contact with my professors. When I visited MC campus, I knew it was right for me. There was a great sense of community, I met several of my professors face to face, and the campus was beautiful! I knew that Manchester was the college meant for me! |
My favorite things
about Manchester: |
I love everything about Manchester! It's such a small school that you know a lot of people and they plan a lot of activities to do on weekends and throughout the week to keep things interesting and fun! I love the professors. I have a lot of my teachers' phone numbers programmed into my phone and I know I can call them for anything! I love the peaceful feeling I have when I'm at school and I know that I'm safe there! I love that I am free to let God work through me and make things happen on our campus! |
| I never
expected: |
I never expected to be so involved and gain so many opportunities. In high school I was really involved since it was a really small school and I thought that would change in college. I think I am more involved! I was a part of Choir, Band, Cheerleading, Intramurals, many Christian groups, Spring Opera, different plays, and much more!! I even got a Praise Jam Session started back up again every week! I also was able to go to France, Spain, Puerto Rico, and all over Michigan in my freshman year alone for different classes! |
At Manchester
College, I found: |
a whole new light. Going from high school to college is a huge turning point in your life. At Manchester, it was a totally different experience for me but one I will cherish and always remember! You gain new friendships, new classes, new feelings, and a whole new lifestyle and at Manchester College they help make it an easy transaction. Manchester is my home away from home and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else! |

My favorite things
about Manchester: |
As a student, you're a person-a friend- not just a number. I love the small classes and caring professors. They try to help and understand and actually get to know all of the students. Professors will even come sit with you at lunch and come watch your sporting events or performances. |
| I never

I've been given the opportunity to play soccer in Peru, South America this summer. This will be such a great experience both for athletics and cultural immersion. |
At Manchester

compassion from friends and professors. People really care here. I've found spectacular friends and I've met professors who are truly remarkable people and who have enriched my life both in class and out. The small population holds a real wealth of creative and inspiring individuals. |
